I'm Gonna Keep On SHINING!

Today is a new day! I'm still waiting to hear back on my placement for  student teaching.  With my university,  we have a field placement specialist who advocates for us with finding  placement in districts that refuse student contact with placement.  She has reached out every two weeks or so since the end of August! I have heard from others that this is not unusual, so I'm focusing my energy elsewhere. I'm trying to learn that worrying about these situations that are out of your control will only make things worse!

This is my final assessment that will need to be completed during the first 8 weeks of my placement! I have started reviewing the rubric, and researching techniques that can help achieve a higher score! I have found a great channel that talks about various strategies, pointers, and clarification of the edTPA! edTPA the easy way,

Update on my mental health regarding the toxic workplace:

I have focused all of this energy on spending more time creating meaningful conversations with my students! Their personalities are simply amazing! Word of advice when dealing with these types of people.... Allowing them to make you miserable feeds their negativity. You will encounter people like this at some point in your life, but the choice is yours to give them the power over you. Stay firm, smile, and keep the positive vibes going! If they see that their antics will not dull your shine, they will end up being the miserable one! I forgive those who have betrayed me! I will no longer let their scheme tear me down. I'm better than that! :)

Fingers crossed I hear back from placement!!

Praxis Exams

Tomorrow is my final Praxis... Teaching Reading! 90 questions with 3 constructed responses can be done in 2 hours? Easy as pie some may say, but can you really define Alphabetic Principle? Can you apply these content specific terms with the scenario they give you? I have found that this site has free modules to help you with the application of terminology! Plus, they have a test with the constructed response question included! Hope this helps my fellow preservice teachers out there!
